Don't Blow It project

Join the Craftivist Collective to encourage positive change in 2012

Available to all over 18 years old of any craft ability.

The Craftivist Collective are encouraging you to take up craftivism as a New Year's Resolution in 2012 and take on our Don't Blow It project.

Ran by our Founder Sarah Corbett you will learn the classic skill of embroidery whilst also learning how to influence change-makers in the UK. You will create a handkerchief for the influencial person of your choice (this might be a politican, banker, teacher, journalist, judge or someone else) and you will recieve support on what to write on your handkerchief and how to get in touch with that person.

Craftivist Sarah Corbett will also tell you more about the history of craftivism and the methods you can use.

All materials are provided including handkerchiefs, thread, needles, pens, instructions and a kit to put them in to take home if you don't finish your handkerchief. Plus additional Craftivist Collective products are available for purchase in the shop after class.

  • Level: Beginner
  • Teacher: Sarah Corbett
  • Course Length: 2 hours
  • Fee £15
  • Availability: 20 spaces in total

Biscuits will be provided with a cup of tea. With the option of buying homemade cake, tea and coffee

A spoonful of craft helps the activism go down.

We encourage people to express their passion for a better world through the power of craft. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise and collective

Our manifesto is: “To expose the scandal of global poverty, and human rights injustices though the power of craft and public art. This will be done through provocative, non-violent creative actions.”
